I love this forum but now that l don’t have dogs anymore, my life is more free.

I have my pub quizzes and l have joined U3A and am really enjoying it. There is something for everyone on there.

My interests are all in house, but they keep me occupied. The forums on which I post are a displacement activity for when I have a few minutes to spare and are of no real importance to me. If I had to ditch all of them, it wouldn't bother me at all.

Re: This Forum Is Great But What Are Your Interests Outside Of It?

I enjoyed rambling before I got trochanteric bursitis but nowadays I stick to easy short walks - 3 miles at the most. I love to get out in the countryside still.

My other interests are:
Swimming - I go twice a week & do about 30 lengths.
Aqua fit classes.
Gym - I go with my friend if it's raining & we can't go a walk.
Working in my garden - I even enjoy weeding!
Visiting stately homes.
Going to the theatre - I love rock n roll shows & have seen them all.
Going out for meals with friends.
Spending time with my grandchildren.
Reading.
Internet forums.
Internet scrabble.

I joined the U3A a few years ago with Tony but it didn't suit us. We joined their luncheon club but nobody hardly spoke to us. They were very cliquey!
I also joined one of their wine tastings but had a bit too much. I almost shamed myself!

Tony also went to the real ale tasting and bird watching but for some reason they didn't suit him!!

We never renewed the membership.

What groups have you joined at the U3A Art?

No, I'm still working plus working nights removes virtually all of my free time.
I have a list of activities I want to begin or renew when I pay off my debts and get back onto day working and regain the lifestyle I've lost for the past thirteen years.

Carol, That made me laugh! I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall at the wine tasting!

I only joined my local U3A lately. I went to an open meeting and everyone l have met so far has been really welcoming and friendly.
I have joined the Natural History Group, the Science Group, the Quiz Group and l would like to join one of the, Scrabble, Bridge and Gardening Groups. I have been invited to the various luncheon groups
I am a very independent person so cliques wouldn’t bother me. I do my own thing!
