Re: Tory Tactics

I will go so far with you Julie, but we need to negotiate a better deal with the EU. we need to get back to what it was in the first place, just a trading common market.

Re: Tory Tactics

I could go along with that, we need to be free though to have agreements around the world and not bound just to Europe. We should IMO be making far more of our commonwealth ties, and trading with them a lot more.

Re: Tory Tactics

Yep - thought the same Julie - hope 'he' thinks on the same lines....
As for postal votes - appears to be laziness in a lot of cases - still I prefer that to not voting at all !

Re: Tory Tactics

I postal vote I can't see how it's lazy I still have to go to the post box which is further than the polling station. Pre postal voting I was a sporadic voter because I was working odd hours and just used to forget in the 4 hours the station was open and I could have voted to actually vote, preferred to have a couple of hours sleep than walk up the road.

My problem is that I have never come across anyone, other than the chronically sick, who have used a postal vote. I am sure there are some, but 58% of a party's vote ??????

Re: Tory Tactics

Yep - was listening to the voters this morning - 'most' were saying they postal voted... they had 'no' reason for that ...

Did not say 'all' Julie ....

Re: Tory Tactics

No no I realise that, I just haven't seen anyone with a postal vote who is doing it because they are lazy.

Re: Tory Tactics

I watch a lot of 'real life' programmes, heard the term from the 'horses mouth' and others did not seem to know why they didn't go and vote !
The easier option for some seems to be the reason....
As I said - as long as they vote, I'm not that bothered how ...

Re: Tory Tactics

Easier doesn't necessarily mean lazy though, a friend of ours postal votes because she can't bring herself to run her car everyday, (very green lady) and see postal voting as the green option and easier than cycling the two miles each way to vote in person.

As she is in her late 80's I think she can be forgiven not wanting to get on her bike to vote.

Re: Tory Tactics

When I was campaigning, we used to go round and pick folks up if they needed a lift, whether they were our supporters or not.
