Will there be a reduction in public transport due to illness for instance ?
Hospital appointments cancelled , operations due put back ?
My philosophy Zuleika is to try to worry about one thing at a time,
Atthe moment l have just finished the whisky!!

The latest bit of hysteria about the virus. You just have to question some people's sanity.

Re: Chinese Coronavirus

Don’t know what you’re trying to do Lindyloo and you probably think you’re safe on the IOW .
This is a highly contagious illness . Doesn’t really matter whether people are slightly ill, moderately ill or dangerously ill no one is safe . End of .

Hi

There is a supply chain issue at the moment.

Nothing to do with the Virus, a lot to do with the Floods.

I'll tell you what if I was going on a cruise this year I would be cancelling now. Fortunately the chances of me ever going on a cruise are zero.

My daughter and her husband have postponed their already postponed trip to Japan - originally they were going skiing at Christmas but my daughter had a racing motor cycle accident so they postponed until April, now that has been postponed until much later in the year.

Re: Chinese Coronavirus

We would never have had so many Spanish flu fatalities with the healthcare systems we have these days. There is hygiene and medication that many did not have access to then. The worry is that this sea of refugees is a perfect environment for virus replication. Anyone then coming into the country illegally & hiding in crowded housing could be a big risk as they are not in the healthcare system.

What the UK should be doing is putting all the precautions in place now rather than waiting until it hits us. People should be strongly encouraged to work from home and not go to large gatherings. That's really difficult if you have celebrations and weddings etc. Our society just isn't geared up to mass self-isolation.
