This did surprise me on how flat it was compared to the rugged cliffs of Lands End in Cornwall. Even how close the inner hebrides looked ,I expected they were further away.
Visited Edinburgh and toured including visiting Ben Nevis. The popped over to Skye by boat (car ferry) no bridge back then.
I would love to go back some day but now live in the other end of the country.

Yes it's flat at John o Groats, and I walk along the cliffs at Duncansby a couple of miles further on. The mountains are towards the West on the other side of Thurso on the A836 to Durness. I also go along there to Strathy Beach for walks with the dog and it's isolated with rough seas and caves. A wonderful place to explore.
These were taken along that way.

Good Morning Each from a very wet rainy Glasgow...hooray the ice has all gone so I've been doing My Gene Kelly number with umbrella on a long walk to the CO-OP earlier...I usually hate the rain but at least I'm able to walk in it without breaking My neck...have a good Sunday all,

Good morning everybody. Raining here today and I'm off to the Panto with friends. Roxy great photos. May it was really frosty here last night.

Morning All, It was a hard frost here too last night and this was what I found I had to walk on when I reached the woods. Thank goodness for Ice grips, I went back to the car and pulled them on over my boots

Good morning Folks,a dry milder one here at the moment...stay at Home day with housework cleaning windows etc;..put up some dec's but I don't feel very xmasy,...still better than this time last year when I was quite ill with a nasty virus which took weeks to go and left Me as weak as water...hope You are all well.xx

Terrible news about the fire at Cameron House on Loch Lomondside...2 People have died and a few more are in hospital..all from the same Family I think...that poor Family...It says the Hotel will be closed for a few days,but I'm sure it will be much longer than that.
