National Obesity Problem?

While I was away I saw a report on the BBC news about Britain becoming a Nation of obese people in the near future, well I can tell you it's the same over here. It seems all the years of eating junk food has caught up with us. As I have said before on this forum, I have great admiration for Folks who try to lose weight and I know its a very tough thing to do, but the way I look at it is if my missus could do it anybody could, she didn't go on any specialised diets, she was eating far too much and she knew it so she slowly began to eat less every day until she got to the weight she was happy with and only ate enough to stay that weight, she is a very determined Woman and if she wants to keep her weight down she will.
Everyone has their own way of doing weight loss, and good luck to them, all I'm saying is if you dont have the will power, you wont make it.
I was wondering (I'm always wondering) what the armed forces are going to do about recruitment with the selection of young lean fit Men being very limited at the moment, methinks they already have problems and it wont be long before we see a whole battalion of Billy Bunters marching pass the Queen on her birthday

Ha Ha Ha Oh Dear I know it's not really funny but.....I still love Billy Bunter and have some Audio Books of him, and I was just thinking of life in the Army for Bunter with Cocker as his Officer, in fact Cocker as an Officer doesn't bear thinking about.

As someone who constantly fights the battle of the bulge, I feel it's not really how much we eat, it is what we eat. There is too much cheap rubbish to be had. This man puts it well... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Why-We-Get-F...4951645&sr=1-1 Sugar & flour laden 'foods' has a high profit margin so our supermarket aisles are filled with them.

Re: National Obesity Problem?

I agree I also have a battle to keep my weight down, it is the constant battle of buying fruit and vegetables which are not cheap, and they go off so quickly, i have tried buying in smaller quantities than the punets but that just puts the price up even more.
I dont over eat, I am not constantly eating chocolate, chips, crisps, it may be how I eat, not having breakfast, and eating late in the evening.
So it may be a case of re education of my eating habits.
