Space exploration
I'm on the fence about this.As a British astronaut blasts off into space, I was wondering...
Should so much be spent on space exploration?
On one hand if we hadn't done it in the past we wouldn't have lots of things including the Internet and satellites
.
On the other hand the money could have gone on keeping the Earth in good condition.
What are your thoughts on this?

Good point but look back into our history to see how much we have gained by exploration .“Oh no, I quite like England. It’s a bit dull, but rather nice. Why should I give up my beautiful house for a wild camp inhabited by Indians or Martians!”
Each new land discovered has led to new cultures, inventions and helped shape our societies.

I was listening to a programme the other day about research into the effects of weightlessness and for the body being in the prone position for long periods of time, (apparently prolonged weightlessness is one thing that deters travel to Mars because it would have a dreadful effect on the body ).
This research could be useful in the treatment and understand of medical condition like osteoporosis and prolonged confinement to bed following illness or injury.

Thank your lucky stars
for space exploration, back in the early 1960's Telstar was put into orbit, and we have the TV and telephones we have today.It has gone on quicker than we can keep up with, and technology seems to not stop, makes you wonder what will be next.
