Pleased to see you here Floydy, how's City of Culture year going? Looking forward to visiting early May, hoping there's something interesting to see.

There's a bloomin' great wind turbine blade right in the city centre to start with Val......And you will find a 'Secret Garden' for lunch if you (a) search for it. Or (b) Ask foxy for directions....

Foxy, we were in Hull about three weeks ago and forgot to look for the blade, I understand it may be gone by May. According to what I've read, I've not missed much but I'd have liked to have seen it.

Hope you get your loyalty card stamped at Secret Garden! Not been in the Hull one but I think I've seen it. We like Starbucks in the St Stephen centre as we don't have one in Brid.

The blade has probably gone back to Siemens now. I personally thought it looked ridiculous, but I guess it was a novel attempt at creating some dubious modern art on the basis of Siemens investing in the city.

Val, last time I looked the city centre was still full of roadworks, but they are gradually disappearing now. It depends where your interests lie, but the museum quarter is always worth a look around. Tie those in between with some of the excellent old town pubs and a perfect afternoon could be had by all!

Re: Over 50s Club Yorkshire

A couple of years ago we went to the Streetlife Museum on a Sunday. As it didn't open until afternoon we went into the Sailmakers in the old town for lunch and were entertained by various country and western singers, open mic I think they called it. We had a brilliant day.

I don't think I've ever been to Hull. It sounds interesting.

The nearest we've been is Beverley.

Some brilliant architecture and history in Hull JB. One of my favourite cities. The Museum and art gallery is free as well.
