Recommending the BBC Iraq documentary series
For my health I've been watching some cheery political/military type documentaries. The BBC doc series about Iraq - very good, 5 episodes in all w the Iraqi headbanger/beefcake Rambo marine killer/mad colonel/all great characters that remain in the mind during sleeps.
...then to pursue the wormhole discover the documentary - found in the BBC I-Player film section - called Bitter Lake which pieces together jigsaw from birth of Wahhabism, through the Russian/Western interventions, through to Isis, very interesting. I really enjoyed the TEFL art teacher section - she's explaining Marcel Duchamp's urinal to Afghan peasants: kind of a glorious madness.
