Smooth Radio

I've recently discovered this radio station. It runs on advertising and has News but the main part is music, perhaps more in keeping with older tastes. What might be called 'Easy to listen to background music'.

There are several places to find the station. A search will find them if interested. I use Freeview 718.

Just thought I'd mention it.

That is one of my favourites when driving, along with another called something like 'Greatest Hits'. That's also like Smooth Radio in that it's 'oldies' more than the so-called 'modern' stuff. Both found by chance when programming the radio in a new car.

I like Smooth when driving, but they only seem to have ten records which they play in a loop between ads...

I rarely listen to radio but, when I do, it's when I'm driving and, since 2014, when I acquired a new car and found it while experimenting with the entertainment centre, Smooth has been my station of choice.

Surprisingly, it's been around since 2004, when it took over from Jazz FM.

The very name 'Smooth Radio' sets my teeth on edge and I cannot imagine ever listening to it. I have a problem with background music at the best of times, I find it irritating and frustrating. And if that music is the dread easy listening then that problem is multiplied a hundred-fold.
