Re: Hurricane

That is ridiculously cute. What a stunning little machine. Is it privately owned?

It with about 7 or 8 others belong to a private group with share holders.

Supposed to be the smallest commercial rail sarvice used every day ( bar covid)
During the war the carrages were converted to carry guns to shoot down planes and could me positioned anywhere along the track. only thing was they had to dismantle the guns to get under the bridges

Needless to say this is my favourity railway.

sorry about video quality

This is one of those rare and beautiful gifts. A perfect example of the perfect blend of technology, art and beauty. Thanks so much RS. I love steam trains.

I used to live near that railway but as an ex steam engine driver and boiler attendant I love steam engines too

Alas I couldn't drive the little train without another test and even that cert took four years to get (second class engines, firetube, watertube etc etc)

Re: Hurricane

Thanks for the vids.

We rode the RH & D railway a few years back from one end to t'other. It was absolutely delightful.

We had lunch in the cafe at Dungeness, before my Lovely Cousin and I went up the lighthouse, leaving my Outlaws down below.
We then stopped at one of the stations on the way back to go round the model railway exhibition.

It was a fandabbydozy day out. I can recommend it to anyone.
