We aren't in Schengen yet we have been the only country allowing in both EU and non EU migrants with no challenge, the only country not questioning whether they get benefits and free hospital treatment. We are not nuts, we are lazy and sloppy. So people pointing the finger at the EU should look at other EU nations and see whether they allow what we have allowed. Because you will find that they have not. Point the finger where it belongs - back at Westminster.

Absolutely Annie, most of our problems come from within.....

And the country is too full of `do-gooders` who whine and bleat at what they perceive as social injustice, always taking the side of so-called `refugees`, those who put the needs of incomers before the needs of our own people.

Well it's funny because the "do gooders" don't stop changes in universal credit or cuts to the NHS (both of which the do gooders are against). So it's not the do gooders who are making things happen or not happen.

It's all down to Westminster, the minions working for the machine and what is expedient. There is a sloppy culture which cuts corners and allows stuff that they think they can get away with. Why bother doing things properly if you are not going to be held accountable? There is a laziness at the centre of of all.

And how is that down to the EU?

If you really want to see a divided UK, don't deliver Brexit.

And that will also give rise to anarchy I believe.

The Establishment likely don't care as they will remain safely tucked away. Unfortunately many innocent people and businesses will suffer from violence, property damage and property fires imo. Think London riots of 2011 times a factor of 100 and happening all over the country simultaneuosly.

No BrExit = admission that there is no democracy in the country, only the illusion of democracy.

Is that what people want?

I certainly admire your optimism Annie, the problem though is that Maggie Thatcher is no longer in charge of our government. The Elite, EU-Loving establishment are!
When the EU says jump! we jump. Where other EU states ignore what they don't like about the never-ending rules and regulations spewed out by the EU, the EU just let them get on with it. The prats in office here don't even put up a show of a fight to regulations that are not to our benefit, they just automatically carry out the dictators bidding without question.

As for joining the Euro? my understanding is that we opted out of joining the Euro and this stands until 29th March 2019 when we are meant to leave. However, if, at a later date, we decide to rejoin the EU, that opt-out goes out of the window and we would no longer have the opt-out of the Euro.

My god, is this a sign of reality creeping in?

And have no doubt that we will go scurrying back to the EU for re-admittance not only losing our veto of not joining the Euro but also our rebate.

Re: Brace Yourselves, It Ain’t Going To Happen, Is It?

We don't have to join the euro. We are a key player and should be shaping EU policy. This has not happened since Thatcher. Why do you think france and Germany have so much influence? It's because they grabbed it. Many countries do not have the euro. We can just say no thanks and they cannot force us to change.
