What is this please ?

I bought this poor plant yesterday from Tesco for 50p
It was on the dying plant stand
( why don't they just water them )

Anyway it looks nearly dead
But after a good drink it's looks lovely .

Does anyone know what it is it didn't have a label .

My immediate thought was Coreopsis but I actually think it's a Gazania.

They're both a form of Aster.

Might be a tagetes does it smell like a marigold because they do.

Muddy, Nicol's right, it is a Gazania.

I planted 70 of them in my front garden this spring!

They open in the sun and close up at night.
Very bright and colourful.

My wife also says Gazania.
They grow well in sandy soil down under.

Yes, definitely Gazanias, my dad used to grow them in his garden many years ago
