Students indoctrinated with Anti-Brexit ideas?

An article here discussing what many of us have thought for a long time, that teachers are trying to exert their own anti-Brexit views on the students they teach. The students at this particular school have voiced concerned at the attempts to indoctrinate them.

Students since the year 2000 and before have been indoctrinated and taught with the EU as part of our culture and we are all European. End of... but the brainwashing started long before that, with the previous generation. Few of whom were born before we joined the EEC.
My daughter is a teacher, and knows nothing other than the European Union.
Now they wonder why they can't afford to rent a property, let alone buy one and it's all our fault because we had things too good and spoilt it for everyone else! It's a laugh a minute.

Apparently a long time ago you visited school? Or were you one of those who skipped lessons to protest against the vietnam war?
It is a teacher's task to instruct and tell facts. So nothing wrong is reported in that article.

Property prices are down to Thatcher's policies in the 80s. That combined with tax incentives for buy to let.

Since when have their [teachers] opinions on Brexit and it's possible outcomes been classed as fact? One of our teachers in the 60s was a fanatic when it came to Chairman Mao and made no bones about telling us all. You might compare him with Miss Jean Brodie and her obsession with Il Duce (that's a book by Muriel Spark BTW )

For a teacher in economics a look at brexit seems quite instructing for his students. The behaviour of cummings can be related to tolkien's books. And so on. Nothing new if your statement about your teacher is to be believed.

You can believe alright - he was a complete nutcase. Think he must have had PTSD from his time in Korea.

So you didn't believe your teacher's tales. Why should today's students be less intelligent than you. They will be quite able to distinguish fact from tale in what teachers tell them about brexit. Why would you get all wound up about it? Did your father about what that teacher told you about mao tse tung?

Re: Students indoctrinated with Anti-Brexit ideas?

I believe current affairs should not be talked about in schools.

I was at school in the 60s and the most controversial thing we learnt about was the English Civil War ... endlessly.

I think WW2 was considered a bit delicate.
