You have gone to a lot of trouble. I am wondering how many on your rich list can thank the West for their fortunes. Also interested to see how many of them have close ties to the Communist Party or are even controlled by Beijing and Jinping.

I'm sure they all have connections to the so called "Communist party" (or it could be called The Republican Party). It's got nothing in common with Karl Marx!

Sure about that. This is the emblem of the Chinese communist party. Look familiar?

A flag is just a flag! It doesn't mean anything apart from recognition of a country, football club , Masonics etc

So are Huawei phones banned from certain defence establishments in Canberra though personally I am quite happy with mine. However the Tik Tok ban only affects defence force devices not military personel's devices

(All my kids are either in the military or work for defence or the security service.)

Wars now are fought digitally and economically.

We are but flies to be swatted.

With respect mate you are free to see yourself as a fly to be swotted. I have a little less pessimistic view of my future and that of my kids. What I think we need to do is throw a little less weight (brawn) around and a little more brain. China is only as powerful as the rest of the world allows it to be.

Just for the record, I boycotted the meetings where my manufacturing company (now defunct) decided how much more stuff to outsource, eastwards.

Hi

I agree with you.

Unfortunately our Politicians are not very clever and are grandstanding.

Threatening the Chinese when they own so many of our Companies and Debt is stupid.

Far more effective is a subtle long term plan to lock them out.

In the UK this would start with cancelling contracts with Nuclear Power and building our own renewables.

Buying back our share of Airbus, so we can continue to build the wings here and close down the China Factory.

We sell Government Debt, easily managed to exclude the Chinese.

China nicks our Technology, we should nick theirs.

That's down to Democracy.

Sadly, A prospective MP has to canvass, using Smoke & Mirrors, in order to get elected. It is fairly common practice - if not total.

Strangely, We all seem to know that, and most of us can spot the lies & promises, even as they are spoken.

Without Democracy a Country can, simply, put in place those with the biggest guns. (Buy out the Forces, Run for your own good!)

I prefer the Democracy. At least you can TRY to unload the Liars!
