Maybe Moving Parliament Around is not such a bad idea?

We criticise the EU for the annual packing up of parliament, and moving it to a different Country, for a month, every year.

Maybe it would be a good idea to do this, in the UK, after Brexit.

We could pack up, and move, the HOC, to Yorkshire, and do all of the financial changes whilst there.

We could move the HOC to Scotland, annually, when we need to debate defence & warfare.

A month in Northern Ireland would help MPs to really understand the issues there?
Money well spent?

If we make good use of HS2, etc.

Just a thought!

No applause, please, just throw half crowns!

Good grief. Can you imagine the huge wastage of money each time they had to move????

Surely they cost more than enough at present without the added expense incurred in moving them (and their entourage) around?

Agreed. Seems to me that most of the gatherings in parliament are for the purposes of posturing. Each MP has already made up their mind which way to vote beforehand and I doubt whether a single person has changed their mind during "debates".

Not really sure there's a need for a permanent public chamber at all.

A virtual Parliament would work for most of time, cut out a load of the nonsense.

It seems to me to make sense to build a new purpose built new parliament some where in the middle of the UK. You could develop a whole town around it for the MPs while it is sitting. This has been done very successfully in many countries.

Then the current House of Parliament could become a tourist attraction and open to the public.

Given the cost of repairing it, it might be worth ripping it down anyway and just leaving the clock in place.
