Price of fish and chips!

I took my late neighbour and friend's grandson to Paisley this afternoon (I used to take him out when she was alive). After trawling the shops and buying some books in Smiths and the Charity Shops, I took him to a fish and chip shop that I used to go to a few years ago. I ordered a plate of fish and chips and a glass bottle of Coca-Cola for both of us - cost £16.l70!! After letting my knife and fork fall and picking myself up from the floor, I gave the waitress the money!

Ridiculous! Won't be going there again! The chips were awful to boot

Take away they are about £10 each here, so that doesn't sound too bad to me.

I had to ask the wife Rosemary, she said chips to take away are 3 euros and fish (Ray) is 7 euros.

The last time I bought fish and chips they cost me £1.50
I always think the thought is better than the eating, so often they are a disappointment.

Better to make them at home .

Thats shocking, must admit its donkeys since ive visited a chip shop.

I use to like mine out of newspaper they dont taste the same in those horrid plastic boxes....
Cheap salt and vinager nowadays also ruin the taste

about £6.50 near us and they're very nice but the fish are smaller than they used to be and the chip portions are too.I usually make my own as I like haddock not codling or pollock. We went in a Beefeater nr Bristol a couple of months ago and had fish chips and mushy peas beautifully cooked and large portions £4.95

I have paid £15 for two Cod & Chips here, and to think how much money they get on given you chips of £1.40 when you can get a bag of potatoes for £1.00.

bag of potatoes for £1.00 we can't £2.95 is cheapest for 2 kgs, and they've got no taste in them.

Oh well I don't feel so bad now! It was "sit in" we had, perhaps we had to pay extra!!
