Sad but true.

My house is 95% wooden (with a dash of fibro) so more of a shack by pommie standards - a four bedroom shack but a shack none the less. Though looking very smart at the moment because my son and DIL painted the outside (that is the problem with wood, everything has to be painted)
Bruce, I suppose you do have great memories of your shed. Your house might not be like what you’d like but it’s a home.

Anyway, do you talk ‘posh’, you know like you have a plum in your mouth?!!

Don't get the wrong idea - I am very happy with my house it suits the climate with big eaves, verandahs/patios, a quarter acre block and where I have lived for 40 years

No I don't talk posh, I was born in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire but moved to Borough Green, Kent when I was about five so I lost my Gloucestershire accent and, because we lived on a council estate which was used for London overspill (remember the 1950s slum clearance), I have a sort of east London/Kent accent (I think). All my kids say is that I talk like a pommie.

I had a cousin with the posh accent who was a private (public?) school teacher and who used to work for the Prince of Wales as a publicity officer but he always was a bit odd (he is dead now).

I should add that I didn't stay in Borough Green; when I was about 7 we moved to Folkestone on the Kent coast where I did grow up and left at the age of 19 to go to Australia. My parents were both teachers and headteachers hence the moves.

Some of us ,like poor old Oscar ,end up back in the gutter.

I'm hopeless at drawing.

Tops, bottoms, I'm hopeless at drawing them all.

Re: Are You ‘Top Drawer’ Or ‘Bottom Drawer’?

Top drawer for undies, socks
Middle drawer for gym wear
Bottom drawer for jeans

Seriously, I'm very down to earth being a Yorkshireman. I have no delusions of grandeur whatsoever. Not saying I'm nothing though, I just have no heirs and graces; I never try to be something I'm not.
I do try to better myself and I'm competitive in certain areas but that is different.

Well I'm a Yorkshire lass through and through if anyone puts heirs and graces on with me I go onto ee bah gum speak but that doesn't mean I can't mix with the hoi polloi

I can be shy in personal situations though I hold back if I'm not sure so maybe that comes over as stand offish....I don't mean to be.

Which draw am I in?......top draw like all Yorkshire folks
