Being Called Ma'am

Not much of a thread I admit but just wanted to mention that ever since I became middle aged, people will call me ma'am.
I guess there's worse things, ha ha.
I'm told I look younger than 51 but maybe it's all the grey hair coming in. Tired of dying hair though, all those chemicals.

I think I would feel honoured to be called Ma'am ..... the only other person I know who gets called that here is our dear Queen!

I'm a very young 60 Autumn, haven't been called anything yet, well maybe under the breath, as they say.....

When I worked for my son on a French island in the Indian Ocean all his friends,tenants and staff called me "Maman" which I rather liked especially as most of them were young and .... dare I say it .... sexy Frenchmen!

I'm 65. I've beem called Ma'am for many years now.. I guess the first few times felt odd, but I'm used to it now. What I DO hate is being called "young lady" by some twit young enough to be my grandchild. Seriously? Young Lady? I know they think they are being cute and an old bat like me should feel happy to be called "young"... but what they miss is that it's calling attention to age. I am not young.. AND I'm not a child.. so to me it's nothing but condescending agism. I also dislike being called all the cutsie names like "sweetie" or "honey" or "doll". If they don't know my name... Ma'am will do just fine thank you very much.

I don't like Ma'am, it's too stuffy, I've been called lovey, honey, sweetie, darlin', don't mind any of them as they're more friendly and less reserved

I quiet like being called Ma'am
I was quite taken aback when a man delivering a parcel said
'Can you sign here Meg' rather than Mrs S****' .
