Funnily enough our stats show that quite a few people find the site after searching for over 50s dating, and I was thinking about starting up a section for those interested in it
I have never personally been on a blind date, tho have met people online and met up for drinks or to go clubbing - does that count?

I would never risk a dating forum - heard too many fearsome stories about them. Have never been on a blind date either - did once make up a foursome for dinner which is, I suppose, similar but at least I wasn't on my own. I have been to 'forum meets' which were fun.

Lilac you were so lucky to survive your bad experience.Loved the Italian guy what a wimp.
I have never been on a dating forum but I had a sort of blind date.
I was 18 and in those days the buses had the open doors and you
could jump on them. This young Conductor was always chatting me
up when I got on his bus. He was always stood on the steps letting
people onto the bus.
He asked me out and I had to meet him at a pub near where I lived.
He said he would be outside at 7.30pm. I walked along the road
and a few people were outside and I thought Oh he hasn't arrived
yet I hope he is not going to stand me up.
Then out of the few people this lad turned around and said Hi
I am so pleased you came. I nearly fainted as this guy had leathers on
and a big quiff and was a lot smaller than me. I like tall men so
couldn't understand where his legs had gone
I then realised I was either sat down when he spoke to me on the bus
or he was up the steps on the bus talking down to me.
I must be thick in those days.
I couldn't stand him and I went to the toilet and went out the back door
and ran all the way home laughing. Never saw him again on the bus
so I can only presume he used to ask for that bus to see me coming
out of work.
Never went on a date like that again. Lesson learned.

There weren't any forums, "social media", or personal computers for that matter in my teens. So, no dating forums, but I suppose there were the personal ads. in the newspapers.Blind date - yes. We've been married almost 41 years.
