Any advise /Suggestions?

Any one advise please ? My dear friend i[ just outside Birmingham] Is very lonely and Im trying to find somewhere for her to go. How can she do this.? She doesnt see many people to speak to. I suggested a Coffee morning at a Church near by ,but my friend has been told only Church members can attend. I find this odd,as Churches around here welcome anyone to their coffee mornings.

Re: Any advise /Suggestions?

I'd say she ought to join a pensioners group.
They meet to chat & drink tea/play bingo/make friends. They usually have trips out by coach about once a month.

If your friend can't find a suitable group she should go to the library. They have a record of every group in the area.

I think whoever told your friend she couldn't go to church coffee mornings have got it wrong. She could always go along and see.

Re: Any advise /Suggestions?

Deylon, I agree with everything Carol (above) has just said.

Thing is though, you say you are trying to find places for her to go, but is this what she wants?
Is your friend a good mixer? Does she enjoy meeting new people?

It is hard to add to what Carol has already said, partly because I have no idea what things are available where she lives, and partly because I have no idea of her mobility either?

If you found her something you liked the sound of, do you think she would go, and is she able to travel to places under her own steam?

Even with the best intentions, it is difficult to choose for somebody else.

I have never heard of churches turning people away. It defeats the purpose of being a Christian. Libraries often have meet ups.

She might not be mobile enough, or be able to afford one, or even like dogs!

This is why I said it is difficult to choose for somebody else.
