Your style

Again.. inspired by Pauline's mini skirt thread
it made me try to categorise my own style
I decided it was quite classic but with a vintage or younger fashion twist.
If I'm wearing a dress I'll team it with a leather jacket
If I wear jeans it'd be with a crisp blouse or tailored jacket
If I wear shorter skirts it's with my vintage back-tails jacket or a more conservative blouse
If it's knee length skirt then an edgier top or tee

I've seen fashion blogs by women in their fifties.
Some are very edgy. One lady had a grey spiky hair cut and wore quite punk inspired outfits. Another one had bright auburn curls and was totally committed to the bright red lipstick and 50s full skirts and pearls and neck scarves. I thought they looked so cool but I would never carry it off ...even as an Art teacher!

Could you describe your style?
Where do you buy your clothes?

Re: Your style

In a word..Boring. You will always find me in my light blue jeans and a T shirt. Never a plain T shirt though. My current one is a dark maroon with the words No Filters on the front. I might "Dress up" a bit if i'm going somewhere special..like Sainsburys.. but that's as good as it gets.

Oh and my T shirts are usually from Sports Direct. I like the SoulCal range.

Re: Your style

Thanks Rhian. I think so but it's always nice to hear someone is in agreement. I rarely if ever wear a suit and tie. Maybe it's cos it's the suit I got married in!

Re: Your style

I'm certainly not a fashion guru.
Cargo pants for all my stuff. Poo bags, cards, coins, the folding kind, tissues, keys, pen, torch.........
A T-shirt, usually with a company logo.

I can do the formal stuff when the situation demands.

Re: Your style

I like classic clothes of good quality.
I don’t follow trends as l am not a sheep, or wear what’s in fashion, even if it doesn’t suit me!

I have always been the same and been told l am very elegant! I would rather that, to being trendy and wearing fashion for fashion’s sake and be laughed at!

I buy my clothes, usually in House Of Fraser.

Levis, brogues, blazer, polka-dot neckerchief, trademark white linen flat cap (all year round).

all from different shops.
