Re: TV chef Gary Rhodes

I suppose he was one of the early TV chefs before all the others muscled in. He always seemed like a pleasant bloke and I mainly remember his spiky hair.

sad news

RIP

Celebrity chef Gary Rhodes died from a head injury, his family has confirmed.

They released a statement to the Evening Standard "in order to end painful speculation."

It confirmed Rhodes, who died aged 59, collapsed at his home in Dubai with a subdural hematoma, which is usually associated with a brain injury.

His death was widely reported on Wednesday, followed by some press speculation as to the cause.

Very sad. I guess that the injury and related metal plate in his skull years ago might also have added complications.

I remember watching some of his XMas meals series a few years ago and how he said that although one can spend a load of time making one's own pudding, why bother as there are plenty on the market just as good. Not often you hear a pro come out with that!

Gary Rhodes always came over as a really nice man. He was too young to die.

My heart goes out to his family. Such a sad loss, as it is for anyone who loses a Husband, Son or Brother. I used to really enjoy watching him on television. He could rustle up a meal from any old ingredients from the fridge and veggie basket. Very talented and will be sadly missed.

R.I.P Gary.
