Many of those members are not Labour supporters at all; quite the opposite in fact, and they have chosen Jeremy Corbyn not because he is the best leader on offer, but because he is the worst
They do this, setting up a long term Trojan Horse, in the hope and expectation that their choice would ultimately and eventually lead to their desired result, as shown on 12 December

After all, £3 is a small price to pay to keep Labour in a minority, and it explains why Corbyn had a large support from members, but only the minimum from Labour MPs

The Labour Party have obviously not twigged that when they boast that they are the biggest political party in Europe, all is not what it seems

Shame about that link. I can't read it because I don't subscribe to the 'so called' Independent - and wouldn't want to! I haven't seen it, of course, but I assume that one Miss Abbacus was at the top!
Sorry you couldn’t open the link - I don’t subscribe to the Independent either but I could read the article - it was entitled
“So who were the moronic MPs who nominated Corbyn for Labour Leadership Contest” - and you’re right, the top name on the list was Miss “Abacus”!

Anyway, if you wanted the names, they are on Wiki (only they list 36 not 35 MPs there)
Andy Burnham got twice as many MP nominations and came 2nd in the Membership vote, so if Corbyn had not been nominated, I expect he would have won it.

Thanks for that. No, it definitely won't let me log in unless I subscribe.
Somehow, though, I can't imagine that Diane Abbot would be elected as Compo's replacement. I can't think why!

Re: Pros and Cons of election result?

Another pro that has become evident is that the referendum
result is no more in question, so far?
I am very suspicious as the remainers have kept too quiet since
the election?
Do they think they have won?

Re: Pros and Cons of election result?

The big PRO for me is the ability of the government to push through big changes, big projects, big investments and have the upper hand in Parliament, finally. Gone are the days of being voted down by the opposition protesters and coalition nonesense time and time again. Finally, we will see the UK move forward and join the rest of the world in an efficient and modern UK thats been held back by yesterdays men for far too long.

Cons ? There is a lack of opposition .... not because labour lost so many seats, but because labour still refuse to listen to anyone except metropolitan London, rich remainers and wealthy socialist snobs. The 5 candidates they have put forward are :

1. Kier Starmer - rich privately educated remain snob who refused to investigate Jimmy Savile while heading up the CPS and was in favour of Warboys early release from prison.

2. Rebecca Long-Bailey - thin lipped bitterness continuing the Corbyn marxist dream. Working class, born to the sound of terraces (so she says) but forgets to mention she is married to a multi-millionaire factory owner, while she barks on about equality and poor people..... zzzzz

3. Jess Phillips - Quite nice, grounded and appeals to the many. Unfortunately, a complete drama queen who thinks everyones life is as miserable as hers. Mostly unwashed, never irons her clothes and employs anti-semites who only get fired when they get found out.

4. Lisa Nandy - She is from Wigan and nobody knows much else about her, except she was "born into Marxism" by her Marxist parents. Boring to listen to, uninspiring, won't listen to her constituents but claims eye watering levels of expenses regardless. Lisa Nandy is remainer who over the past 3.5 years has worked against her own Brexiteer constituents, and is totally our of touch with the rest of the country.

5. Emily Thornberry - privilidged wife of multi millionaire Lord Nugee, Emily Thornberry is "Queen of the Snobs" on the Labour front bench, a surprise return from when she was fired for her racist, insulting remarks about "white van man" and his England flag waving on the side of his council house, while he supported his national football team. A last minute grovel around the dark corners of Westminster finally got her the votes she needed to get nominated as a candidate, thanks to "on your knees, bitch" Clive "caring" Lewis quitting at the last minute to save embarrassment.

Emily Thornberry has been a useless shadow foreign secretary who doesn't even know who the leaders are of countries when asked on Sky News.

Re: Pros and Cons of election result?

I'm still wondering why it will take until April before the Labour Party tells us who won the leadership election. Whoever it is I'll bet a £ to a penny there will be some backroom shenanigans beforehand.

Probably making sure McKlusky has enough time to nobble the result in favour of Rebecca Long-Bailey. Corbyns manifesto would give the unions a seat in Westminster and there's no way McKlusky could pass up on that one.

Labour, through Long Bailey, would also still be under the influence of Momentum's founder John Lansman. It's his, along with Len McCluskey's far left agenda that has destroyed the Labour Party.
