Saint Peter's Church, Castle Park, Bristol.
The ruined church is now a memorial to those who were killed in the area during the Blitz.



That's a useful place to hang a mooring rope.

I wondered what was there.

I grew up in that area and recently my brother sent me a postcard of that memorial and to be honest I thought it was something to do with Disney or Micky Mouse. Seems a poor design to remember heros by.

Seeing the grasshopper reminded me of this:



It's the giant meat ant sculpture in Augathella (pop <450) the town where Smiley came from. Meat Ants can carry 100 times their own weight, so don't park too near this one.

There are some lovely & unusual statues in cities/towns all over this World. I think this thread is a good one.
Took this on a visit to Arundel castle, some years ago.
