Re: Diana’s statue

Why include a black and a girl and a third kid?

Would it not be VERY much better to have had "Whinge" and "Surly Willie" with her if there had to be kids?

Re: Diana’s statue

I would be surprised if anybody that liked Diana would appreciate it & I have to say that if I had walked past it in a park I would have had no idea that it was supposed to be Diana, unless it had her name on the bottom.

Re: Diana’s statue

To be honest I expected something more dignified, and if you had to have orphans then why is one of the children stuck around the back out of sight? Quite odd.....

Re: Diana’s statue

There are many images of Diana and children in Africa and she was a kindergarten teacher before her wedding. So it seems perfect to have her surrounded by children and those from different backgrounds/ethnicities.

I think it's a lovely statue except for the outfit they chose to put her in. She had so many beautiful dresses they could have based it on.

Re: Diana’s statue

I am not sure what l think about it? I didn’t even notice a third child behind her until Barry pointed it out.

Looks like it was designed to tick all the boxes.

No surprises Annie, not everyone agrees with you:
The only provocative thing about Ian Rank-Broadley’s characterless sculpture is how shamelessly it plays up to mawkish Diana worship

All newspapers are I reckon irrelevant when it comes to something such as this.
They all have axes to grind one way or another!
