Five million pounds? That seems a bit extortionate to say the least. However, do you agree that EDF are doing the right thing by suing the DashForGas people? Do climate change activists have the right to protest in the way they did?

Finally, why does a French company own a British gas supply? Nothing of that mentioned here:

Karen darlin' the responsibility of privatising and then selling off our utility companies was Thatcher (phth, phth, phth).

You do have a bee in your bonnet Uncle Joe about Margaret Thatcher - she isn't the only one: 'In January 2006, it was rumoured that the Russian state-owned utility company Gazprom was seeking a takeover of Centrica. This created controversy in the media, while the Department for Trade and Industry stated any deal would be subject to "intense scrutiny". Tony Blair announced in April that he would not block any potential deal.[14]'

As I said on the other thread - they would all sell their own grandmothers if they thought they'd get a good profit for doing less.

Quite so ben-varrey, this generation has been blighted by shortermalaism, quick fix, buy votes, it did seem to start large scale, post the 1979 Tory Watch, but the band wagon has rolled ever since regardless of political persuasion. Imo.

Exactly! You can't slip a fag paper between any of the three main parties - none of them are remotely concerned about the working people of the UK, only about keeping the rich happy and feathering their own nests. As my old gran would have said, they are just three cheeks of the same deformed arse!!!

I agree with both spitfire and Mick - if I still lived in the UK I'd be champing at the bit by now and lobbying all and sundry! I can't vote your elections anymore or I would. Sadly, nothing will change in the UK until people stand up to be counted en masse and it seems way too many just can't be bothered; bit like Bruce said: you get the government you deserve (and in a way, he's right).

I hope UKIP keep doing well (although they're not ready yet (imo) to take the helm but part of me thinks how much worse could it actually get) - at least they seem to care what happens to Britain and British people.
