Re: Anyone here had their appendix out?

Thanks for asking DM

Well, they gave me Omeprazole, which is usually used for the treatment of stomach ulcers... I was gonna take them bu decided to go ahead and do, in the hope they'd work! Only thing is the pain actually seems worse

So back to see the doc when they're finished :-/

The pain is definitely related to 'what' I eat/drink. Because having anything flavoured stirs it up. Thinking now it may be something like Chrohns disease - as there has been a large number of reported cases for people who live either side of the river that flows at the end of our gardens here

I hope not too. Sometimes I wish appendicitis on myself, just so it can be done with once and for all and I can get back to living again

Have a look here Azz. Wouldn't hurt you to try a few weeks on this?

Re: Anyone here had their appendix out?

Thanks Guys

DM, I don't really have bran tho - and my fibre is usually good quality, brown rice/veg. However it does seem to play up with non-bland foods so that does seem like IBS :-/

Hopefully I'll get to that specialist, and get them to do all the tests under the sun (well maybe not the invasive ones! ..I'm such a wimp when it comes to stuff like that!)

Re: Anyone here had their appendix out?

My husband has diverticulitis (sorry about spelling)and certain foods start it off but at first they treated him with a drug for ulcers but it is just certain foods that trigger it (mainly something in Chinese food) so we are keeping away from them ... hope you soon get sorted Azz ....

Thanks Sue - how did they diagnose it, a barium meal x-ray?
