Re: What do you take us for David?
the ultimate question is: "can UK successfully survive economically without being a member of the ECU" I'm sure someone out there with more financial and economic knowledge and practice than we have can answer that - but will they be covering their own backs first?Re: What do you take us for David?
It's not the fact that the Bank of England is doing such an assessment but a) the way they expect us to believe it was an accidently sent to the press. And b) The article states that the Bank of England is looking at 'The Dangers' of leaving the EU, not the implications, which means they have already made up their minds about the outcome. I don't suppose they will find that we will be better off.Re: What do you take us for David?
England is no longer a nation island and empire on which the sun never sets. I think sometimes we live on our past glories and not todays realities. I do have some serious doubts that England could any longer "go it alone" It would also be interesting to read some "scholarly documents" rather than bank statements about the topic - anyone got any?Re: What do you take us for David?

Whats everyone getting their wy-fronts and knickers in a twist about, the present administration where voted in with a majority by the electorate to follow the policy to renegotiate our terms of membership of the EU then put it to us the voter to stay in or come out.Re: What do you take us for David?

Some people obviously feel differently about this so-called Bank of England slip up but nonetheless, the suspicion regarding this incident is palpable.
