Goodness Tabs, that looks really painful
How you put up with that for all this time is amazing.I hope everything goes smoothly for you and they remove the "Thing" once and for all.
Just a thought, make sure you wear open toed shoes/sandals to come home as I suspect it will be very sore after with anything touching your toe.
