Camper Car?

I came across this when I was looking up camping, at first I thought it was a travelling Punch & Judy show but then I noticed the ladder, nice and cosy if you couldn't afford a bed & Breakfast for the night, I've never seen one of these things before, have you?

That looks like an old Ford Anglia, Jem. I remember those. I believe the police even had some round here, once upon a time.

Re: Camper Car?

Saw something similar on a campsite once a tent on top of a land rover, apparently the couple had been all round Africa camping in it and they had some fabulous photos of when it was occupied one evening by lions

No Ania, nothing so posh .... it's just a hole in the ground - looks like they're both stood over it now!

Hmm.... long legs they've got

Re: Camper Car?

There’s a grand selection of them there Mark, I think they are a good idea, wonder why they didn’t cop on in a big way over here, maybe it’s the “I wouldn’t be seen dead in one of them” syndrome, like the Sinclair C5 car years ago.

Re: Camper Car?

Does look like a good idea but I bet the reality ain't so hot: they would have a hard job coping with a strong wind by the looks of them for instance. More likely they are only used where there is a danger of wild animals or creepy crawlies
