Re: UK Yuletide Markets

All a bit far for us the only one close enough is London and I am not keen to battle my way through the traffic to get there at this time of year. Will stick to my usual wander round the charity shops they have some lovely stuff at this time usually.

We're off to Aberdeen tomorrow and there's a 'German' market, Ice rink etc.. in the city centre. Fortunately we can get a bus every 30 mins to the city centre, so no problem parking. (It's not usually any problem, but so close to Christmas, it might be)

Popped down to Gloucester the other weekend and hurried through the packed Quays Market to get where I was going. Looked very pretty at nightfall though,

Same with the Stratford one. They are just markets in the daytime but take on a quite different feel in the evenings

Not sure why the Cardiff Market pic is missing, Solo

We went to Cardiff yesterday and the market stalls were thriving. Plenty of atmosphere there, a good show of decorations. We took a ride on the Giant Wheel and had terrific views over Cardiff .... we gave the Ice Skating rink a miss though

Finally managed to get down to Aberdeen today. Their market was pathetic - an embarrassment to the city. Most country villages could put on a better show.
