Not sure, I am a little tired, I could expedite my departure and wrangle issues in the Dream Factory, exponentially of course.

Re: Leisurely Scribbles (part 5)

Does anyone remember Craig Douglas? His recording of “Only Sixteen” outsold Sam Cooke’s version in the UK back in 1959. I copped him in an old film on Talking Picture last evening.
I love Sam Cooke’s singing but I preferred Douglas’s version of that particular song, although he didn’t do very well after that hit. I always thought he had a unique singing voice that I loved, then came the Beatles and wiped out many solo singers.
He was born Terence Perkins on the Isle of Wright in 1941 and was a milkman before he went into show business, he still sings from a wheelchair on cruise ships, I believe he has a rare condition that effects his legs.
This song brings back happy memories to me, she was sixteen before I was and I used to tease her about that.

Here goes.

Here doesn’t go. Blast it! Help Sweetie!

Re: Leisurely Scribbles (part 5)

Thank you Gumbud, you are an angel in a mans hour of need.
Raining again all day yesterday, more on the way later tonight I believe, I can’t remember a colder or longer drawn out Winter than this one.
I went out to the garden cabin with a new tin of white paint to slab it on the inside, the wife hates to see me with paint and brush, she says I’m a lousy painter and she’s right I am, but I just love slabbing it on all over the place, she calls me Slab-it-on Miloservic the paint criminal, but it’s my hut and I can slab it on anywhere I like.
When I finished I was surprised to see it looked grand and there wasn’t much mess either, good job I wore old clothes though, I had to throw them out quickly and change before she got back from the shops or I’d never hear the end to it “Jaysus! just look at the state of your trousers and jumper!” That kind of thing. I must say I’m quite pleased with meself. and it helped pass away a miserable afternoon.

That stout chap on the TV ads is beginning to drive me nuts, you know the fella with the game show hyped up voice who keeps telling us “It’s time to pump up your mobile people!” I though it was illegal to pump up mobile folks, wish someone would blow him up.
Then you have the other fella for “Now” TV saying “Watch jaw dropping movies you can’t afford to miss” If I wanted to watch jaws dropping I would have became a dentist.
