Coober Pedy is a town in the middle o a desert where they mine opals. In summer it is very hot and most of the dwellings and motels are underground. Fascinating place to visit. All around are piles of spoil dug up from the ground.

No big companies most of the miners are individuals trying to make a big stake. Some do, most don't but there is a living to be made.
