Ah, Maine!
A thousand miles from nowhere, as our good friend who lives outside Portland signs off his emails.
Thanks for the pics

Hi

It looks absolutely beautiful.

We often forget just how lovely some places are, we take them for granted.

Harrison Ford took narrow boat holiday on the local canal, thought it was stunning, to me it is just somewhere I go fishing.

My mum used to live in Maine (near Bath), so your photo makes me a bit nostalgic. Something about the colours in Maine, somehow different to everywhere else. Where is the lake?

My Mass. friend has a condo in Maine and at one time offered to let me stay there with her, if and when I took a trip over to see her. Bet it's lovely there.

A truly beautiful spot.
I bet you spend as much time as you can there.

"lovemyboys", we hope to be heading up there within the next week, to stay through the end of June. Here's what it looks like from the front porch.

The name is Pequawket Lake and it's in Brownfield on the western border of the state. The nearest towns of any size are Bridgton, ME and just over the state line,North Conway, NH.

Got room for another old chap looking for a cheap holiday. Joking of course. It looks beautiful and restful and great photos by the way

Don't let too many people see how gorgeous that is - they might all head there, and there would go your peace and quiet!
Enjoy!
