What to do?

I can just about afford to visit Puglia next year .But as a single traveler it is not only expensive but one never knows whom one is travelling with. Last year in Sicily I was `not one of the gang` because I took off at lunch time to find little local places to speak Italian -Ok It was very rusty,but I made an effort and it was well received.

I`m not anti social but I will speak Italian,if other members of the trip do not then so be it. Please respect me for trying and do not think I am trying to be better than you.

Nothing wrong with trying to converse with locals in their mother tongue.

I am very proud of my only GCSE -Italian A*-who needs a phD?

I think it is your holiday and you have to do what you feel right with.

If the others on the trip don't want to take part it is their loss. You probably had more fun and a lot more to chat about.

Yes time to dust the books and re learn some decent Italian. I want to see a trullo. I want to speak Italian again. My pluperfect subjunctive is a bit rusty-but I can say hello and thank you.September 2017 I may just be in Italy again.
