Tea always tastes better out of bone china than out of pottery, too. Apparently there's a scientific reason for that, but don't ask me to remember what it is!

Also, why do chips eaten with your fingers taste nicer than chips eaten with a fork?

I detest with a vengeance greasy, sticky fingers !!! - Have NEVER and will NEVER eat chips unless I have a fork in my hand.

Re: soup v coffee in a cup question

If I have a mug of tea or coffee at home -(both without cold milk added) they go cold very quickly. If I have same at a cafe - even 'with' cold milk added, they stay hot longer than those I make at home !

I wouldn't try it Pyxell darlin' unless you want your fingers full of stab holes from my fork. As you're new to this forum, people will tell you I'm the resident gormand - anyone who inadvertently steps between me and a plate of food is likely to get knocked down in the rush.

Hi Pyxell, my tea has to be served in English Bone China. My coffee has to be in an English Bone China mug. Tastes better that way. You are right Chips eated with fingers are so much better than with a fork, hahahah

Another one which might seem unusual to you, is , I eat my toast cold. I love it cold and crunchy, almost burnt....

I don't mind cold toast.... it depends on the bread and on what mood I'm in!
But yes, it has to be almost burnt! Improves the flavour no end. Otherwise, you might just as well have a slice of bread!

I don't mind cold chips either!
Especially for breakfast!

Oh no darlin' - one does not eat chips warm or cold for breakfast. One eats full breakfast, Eggs, bacon, sausages, black pudding, baked beans, mushrooms and doorstep toast, washed down with a large mug of black coffee (I add a tot of Brandy to my coffee too ). Failing that one eats Kedgiree or even Kippers, but never, ever cold chips !!!

Can I come to yours for breakfast, UJ? No need to ask me to stay over the night before!
