They made an episode near us back in the 80s, we were invited to go along with three items, we sat and the items were checked out. We were told they'd let us know if they wanted us to appear on the show, but they didn't.

My favourite wind up is that sort of faux cockney bloke who looks as though he woke up in the grounds where they are filming. He bangs on about an item for five minutes saying how wonderful it is and it's the best example he has seen since the history of the Earth. He gets them all excited then says it's worth £8.50.
