charities

Should charities be made to declare their overhead/admin costs in appeals? at least in percentage terms?

Personally i don't give as once you give to one they all jump on the bandwagon. If I gave to all I would soon be in need of using them as well.

yes they should, especially ones such as Oxfam who have emerged as squandering much of their profits on their fat cat managers. It's all wrong.

I won't give money directly, I'll bag up clothes instead and at least I know I'm not lining the pockets of these greedy capitalists.

I do give cash to certain cancer charities and sponsor forms.

Definitely.

There are still a few who use the money properly - I give to those - but not to ones like Oxfam or Cancer Research.

Its the old parity (not charity) stuff again, should administrators in ANY organisation be entitled to the same Ts&Cs.

Re: charities

Some (maybe all?) charities declare running costs and with a bit of research on the Internet, it is often possible to find them.

We decided to give a regular monthly amount to WaterAid but not before looking into how the money is spent. The organisation declares that for every £1 raised in 2017 to 2018, 72p went on delivering services and making change happen, 27p went on fundraising and 1p on governance. I'm assuming that governance means wages and administration.

There has to be faith that the annual reports charities give are correct but I'd think they are all auditable.
