Have you ever considered how perfect fingers are for gardening.....They can nimbly extract small weeds, and clear debris from around the base of growing things without damaging them. They can also be used as a 'Dibber' for making holes in the earth when planting seeds and other small growing stuff.....Just watch out for the cat poo though....
