a home made dark stout, it is now 8pm. Wife has lots of home brew strawberry cider, but has a glass of Aldi white wine,...traitor!

It's nice to try the exotic............I'm drinking homemade plum gin. The gin isn't homemade, just the plum bit.

Give me a dark stout any day, I'm not very adventurous with beer, a glass of Sandemans Port is what I'm having at the moment, pure heaven.

Love an icy cold beer, specially after a Hot and Humid day, which is every day around here.
Just twist the lid, NEVER from a can, And down it in one gulp.
Way to go.

Yeah, can beer ..not nice. In glass seems right, that's why they invented glass!

When I was a lad I remember sitting in the pub with my uncle one Sunday afternoon, it was a country pub in Carlow and all the men were drinking bottles of stout, I had a bottle of orange and a packet of crisps, standard issue for kids at the time. They all poured the stout into half pint glasses and drank from the glass, when I asked my uncle why did they not drink from the bottle as I had to he said "Because at the bottom of every stout bottle there's a beetle and they have to keep their eye out for it in case they swallow it"
Did I believe him? of course I did, he was my dad's brother and he knew everything, didn't he? I still never drink anything from a bottle, except a soft drink.

BEER??? BEER??? - ergh yuk!!! - far too bitter for my taste Mike matey. I too used to brew my own booze - wine and liqueuers. Was not unknown for me to lay down on my settee with a gallon demijohn of wine on the floor beside my head and the syphon tube in my mouth sucking wine straight from the demijohn.

Hubby likes an ice cold beer on a hot day, I don't mind a shandy.
