Bowie : finding fame

Really enjoying this documentary on BBC2. It's nice to see something I haven't seen before about one of my favourite rock idols. Ok we know it all already, but there's some new footage and a slightly different perspective.

Nice to see the bit about Glasto and wrecked people getting up really early just to listen to him.

I'll have to catch up later but was there for the Ziggy Stardust tour, and grateful he came as far north as Aberdeen.

That must have been amazing Ray. They are just showing Bowie at Glasto in 2000. I wonder why tonight, it's a month late for his birthday/death.

The full 2DVD version of the Glastonbury show is just out to buy which is probably why, Annie.

It was a superb documentary. A lot of work has gone into the research about David Bowie's early years, finding people who were in the older bands and speaking to family members etc.

The last couple of years prior to Ziggy Stardust era were somewhat skipped over though, which I thought was strange, but on the whole one of the best documentaries on Bowie I've seen for a long time. I've had the entire Glastonbury concert on a bootleg for years.

Massive Bowie fan and this programme underlined his journey to brilliance..
