What is this?

This is in a friends garden, she has no idea what it is and her area is chalky soil. She said its not got much of a root and she thought someone one sad it was something like 'Aunty fish all' lol Hmm!! now im no expert but that sounds very much like a wrongly heard name lol but ive no idea what it might be and ive not seen anything like it before, it also looks like a very odd place to be growing... Any ideas anyone?
