Embarrassment isn’t what is was!

I recently watched a podcast in which a young businessman told his fellow presenters, in great detail, about a completely embarrassing thing that happened to him in his car on the way to a business meeting. It was almost a badge of honour for him and his view was that even though it was a cringeworthy incident, it was too good (or bad) not to share.

I really do think that the definition of embarrassment has changed massively from when I was young and a similar near identical incident back then was simply not recoverable from in the eyes of others.

Young people today seem quite happy to share anything and everything. Maybe one day, embarrassment will disappear completely?

I suppose it depends on the scale of it. I would be happy to tell of certain embarrassing moments but not others.

That’s exactly it though, isn’t it.

We’ve all got that or those moments. But I get the distinct impression that for many of the younger generation, nothing is taboo.

That then I guess would mean blushing would be a thing of the past!
No more of this so this little smiley would be redundant!

I blush easily...not that I get embarrassed that much, but even if I find something funny and its a situation where I can't laugh, I just blush furiously! Very weird.

Yes, I agree, societal norms are changing fast.
It’s a whole new world we’re living in.

Huge pregnant bare tummies come to mind! They love to flash them about these days in their cropped tops!

Whatever happened to smocks?

Perhaps it's best that I just don't comment!
