Hi

It is an 1850s end terrace with a big arch way along the main bus route which has been filled with 200 m3 of foam to stop it collapsing onto the road..

Filled with foam? What an unusual preventive measure - I hope it works!

Thanks, Swimmy.

Re: A new local landmark

How strange and it might take some removing and more cost if the building is to be renovated. A better option might have been compulsory purchase by the council and renovation of the building adding to the housing stock to let or resell preserving the overall facade of a beautiful old building .

It wouldn’t be if Banksy did one of his paintings on it!

Re: A new local landmark

The article says that the council only did something about it when one of the residents raised the alarm about the state of the building. I don't know much about councils, but why did it have to get to this state before any action was taken?
