From the link you posted Omah....Around 38,000 households respond to the LFS each quarter and it is the largest regular household survey in the UK. The sampling frame for the LFS is the Postal Address File of small users, which contains approximately 26 million addresses. Only private households are included in the sample. People living in care homes, other communal establishments and hospitals are not included. Only private households in England are included in the pilot study.
At the start of the pilot study we invited about 20,000 households to take part, anticipating that this would result in approximately 21,000 individuals from approximately 10,000 households participating. Since the end of May, additional households have been invited to take part in the survey each week (roughly 5,000 a week).
My initial thoughts are that the target figure is being constantly adjusted, so it's no wonder the cases have risen exponentially...Unless the target figure remains the same The number of infected people will appear to rise along with the extra contributors. So basically we are seeing the Wow! factor of 8 to One, when it could have been this high since last May...
Furthermore, we are seeing a 'Rolling Total' where most of those infected in the past will have long since stopped being infectious even though they are still being counted...
