As much as I understand that a wedding is a celebration, when you get down to brass tacks, I thought it was about a couple wanting to start a life together .
I don't know about you all, but when I got married, I just want to get married. I sure didn't want to wait very long, and beyond that first pew, I couldn't have cared less who was there.
All you need is a minister, priest, or justice of the peace. A celebration, if desired, can come later.
Nowhere in the rule books does it say you need a crowd.
Fine 'em and quarantine 'em.
In the case of a Jewish wedding the wedding bit is almost immaterial compared to the competition between the women who attend.
