Ask yourself why British strawberries are available for so much of the year.
We can see who is out of touch.

You mean we can't grow our own avocadoes?

Please read the posts before replying Swims; I was pointing out another poster's mistaken beliefs with an example.

The basic suggestion was that we can grow and/or use more of our own.
That is quite true.

Not at all. This is still pertinent to Brexit. Thanks to Boris, we are still tied to the EU.

Hi

We will get there, it will just take time.

We are better off out, a shame but down to our Politicans.

We should have been as strong as the French and Germans.

The Single Market was Thatchers idea.

It gave us a huge advantage.

When she left we lost this advantage.

Looking at that link, I'm even more encouraged that we can not only survive on our own, but also flourish.

At the risk of accusations of my repetitiveness, for God's sake let us just walk away from the evil empire now.

We have.

If however you want to put untold numbers of people here and in EU countries out of work by completely severing what few links remain I suspect you will be in a minority.
A very small minority.

No we haven't. We are still subject to their control in some respects.

You haven't heard about Northern Ireland then?

Voluntarily both in order to show respect for the GFA and to maintain free trade with the EU - and this "control" can be terminated if we as a country choose to do so.
Unilaterally.
As you already know.

You didn't even acknowledge the obvious so I will ask you outright:
Would you rather sever ties with the EU completely and see potentially lartge numbers put out of work both here in the UK and in countries accross Europe?

On the contrary; pretending things are in dire straits is not good.
Stop believing biased, flawed opinions and start to look at facts.

We've been through this at least once Swimmy - remember: these are based upon the OBR's estimates?
The OBR who can't get anything right.

You have just written elsewhere that you think it will take time to adjust to Brexit, and yet here you seem to suggest that you want things sorting immediately.
You can't have both.

The vast majority of people here in the UK have noticed absolutely nothing personally different as the result of Brexit.
Nothing.
Covid though is another story.
