Not always no. Like everyone else sometimes I say what I think from a gut reaction. My words aren't always the best ones I could have chosen but my gut is nearly always right.

Largely depends on to whom I am speaking. I have a couple of friends with intense phobias - have to be very careful where they are concerned.

For example - one of them is so phobic about cats I dare not even say the word 'cat' if she is around.

MW I have the opposite problem by brain formulates a good choice of words but my mouth has a mind of its own ...
