RIP Lesley Gore aged 68

IT'S MY PARTY AND I'LL CRY IF I WANT TO

I still sing this song sometimes when cooking in the
kitchen. Loved it when I was 16.
Lesley was a talented girl at 16 when she wrote this song
and sang it. She died yesterday of lung cancer.
She wrote quite a few songs and co-wrote as well.
Always remember when I was 16 as we are the same
age. That song meant a lot when you were just finding
boys were interesting

Oh Mags, that was great, brought tears to my eyes. Loved that
song and reminds me of the trauma in my life when I was 16 just
like Lesley was at that time. She was about 8 months older than me.
Bless her.

It's surprising how an old song can bring back memories Sandy

Sad to hear this news I often find myself singing the song as I potter in my workshop and the follow up "Julies Turn To Cry"
and I am 67.

Re: RIP Lesley Gore aged 68

I'm a little confused... it says she died of lung cancer, but the article I read said they found the tumor on her spine.

Perhaps it started on her spine and then spread to her lungs?
