Bloomin' Heron!

I moved here about four years ago and last summer I refurbished the old existing pond. Lots of water plants and a small fountain. Looked very nice after it was completed so I thought a few goldfish would make it look right. I guess you know what I'm about to tell you. Yesterday morning just after dawn I looked out of the window just in time to see this huge Heron taking off. Now I have a lovely pond but no fish. It seems nobody has seen a Heron in the area before. Oh well, my fault I suppose. The pond is now netted ready for the new tenants. I Don't Beleeeeeve it!!

Re: Bloomin' Heron!

I regularly see a Heron on the roof of the house across from mine. At a distance one could be forgiven for thinking the stork has arrived with a baby

It is actually surveying another neighbour's large fishpond.

I hope your neighbour is aware of their uninvited house caller Meg. Maybe you should give them a wake up call.

Re: Bloomin' Heron!

We had the same problem with our fish pond here, it wasn´t just herons it was cats too so we had to put netting over. Last year we filled the pond in because even with the netting over cats would come and lie in wait for the little birds that came to drink around the little waterfall.

Re: Bloomin' Heron!

So daft humans build open restaurants for our wildlife chums to browse and select choice morsels.

Then complain.
